Flatten the toilet paper tube on one end. Place the tube inside the Angel's skirt and measure the tube for the proper length. The round end of the tube should be slightly recessed at the bottom of the skirt and the flat end should be about at her hands when placed inside the Angel. If the flat end of the tube is a little too wide for the smaller Angel, trim about ¼" off at each outer corner. Remove the tube and glue and/or staple the flat end shut and let dry.
Apply a small amount of glue vertically on the top and on the bottom of the flattened tube. Insert the tube with the glue sides in contact with the front and back of the skirt inside the bottom of the Angel. Make sure the tube is vertically straight and horizontally centered inside the Angel.
To use as a tree topper, slide the tube inside the Angel over the top branches of the tree. Stuff a little tissue paper, if necessary, around the branches inside the tube to hold the Angel in the desired position.
To use as a table decoration, place a small amount of weighting material (i.e. sand or rice), if desired, in a small plastic bag and push the bag into the tube so the Angel will stand. Tape or glue the bag in place to the tube. Arrange her in green foliage, candles or other Christmas decorations. If you are using candles, do not place them close to the Angel or leave them burning unattended, as the Angel is flammable.
The 10" Angel in the pictures is colored with colored pencils. The yarn is variegated thick and fuzzy fashion yarn. The 7 ½" Angel is also colored with colored pencils, but the yarn is a thinner cotton 4 ply. The 5" Angel is printed on golden paper and not colored, glued to manila folders and edged in black embroidery floss.
