Laying Out and Cutting the Pattern Pieces with Seam Allowances: The dress, sleeve, front body and back body pattern pieces all have a 3/16" seam allowance included. Pin the 2 dress patterns on the fold of the fabric.  Following the straight of grain, pin the sleeve, front and back pattern pieces on the doubled muslin and cut them out.  Transfer all construction markings to the fabric.
Sewing the Doll Front and Back: Sew the doll fronts, right sides together, from the bottom of the body to the top of the head, making sure you accurately follow the nose and chin contours.  Repeat for the body back.  Open out and pin the body front to the body back, with right sides together, from hip to hip.  Pin the face seam allowance at the top of the head to one side, and the back of the head seam allowance to the other side. Sew from one hip up and around the head and back down to the opposite hip.  Trim the face and front neck seam to a scant 1/8".  Clip the curves and angles on the rest of the head and body, and then turn the body right side out.
Laying Out the Template Pattern Pieces:  The arm and leg patterns are templates with no seam allowances.  This means that the seams are first sewn directly on the traced pattern lines on the muslin and then the limbs are cut out after they have been sewn.  Lay the pattern pieces out on the straight grain of doubled fabric and pin them in place.  Then pin all around them in the fabric margins so the 2 layers of fabric won't shift when the pattern is removed. Make sure you leave enough room around each piece to cut it out after it has been sewn.  Trace around each of the legs and each of the arms with a pencil.  Remove the pattern pieces.  Do not cut any of the arms and legs out until after they have been sewn!!!
